The horn is one of the oldest wind instruments in the history of Iran, originating from the Achaemenid period. In the historical texts and sculptures of Persepolis, the prototypes of this vessel were used as martial and ceremonial instruments to announce important news, the start of battles, and official ceremonies of the Achaemenid court. The historical and famous example of this vessel known as "Achaemenid Kornai" was discovered in 1336 in the archaeological excavations of Persepolis, it is more than one meter long and it is made of bronze. Another turning point in the contemporary history of this instrument goes back to its restoration and reverberation during the 2500 year celebrations of the Shahshahi in 1350; A place where a group of musicians in traditional costumes from the Achaemenid period, using reconstructed examples of this instrument, made its ancient sound reverberate in Pasargad after hundreds of years.
