The newspaper Fiam Ma reported in a report about the possibility of damage to the ancient site of Arisman in the city of Natanz in the district of Isfahan due to the construction of a solar power plant near this site. Arisman, with an age of about six thousand years and an area of nearly 150 dunams, is one of the most important archaeological sites in Iran in the field of understanding the history of metal smelting and metal processing technologies. This area was explored and researched between 1379 and 1381 in the form of one of the largest archaeological projects between Iran and Germany, but much of its historical monuments are still unknown. According to Piam Ma's report, the land preparation operation for the construction of the solar power plant began at a distance of about 1000 meters from Arisman's main trenches, and the leveling of the land and the fencing were done in the desired area. The presence of slag for metal smelting, metal parts, historical pottery and other works scattered over this area shows its archaeological importance. Experts fear that construction activities, including earthworks, changing the terrain and installing power plant equipment, will damage the historical remains and limit the possibility of future excavations if they are found within the boundaries of the buried works. Arisman's archaeological excavations were stopped after three seasons, and in the last two decades no extensive studies were carried out to fully identify the underground works and to determine their historical scope. According to our notice, it is still necessary to investigate the location of the power plant in relation to the area and the protection of this area, and the proximity of the project to the investigated parts increased the fear of its possible consequences.
