Saeed Tawakli, CEO of the National Gas Company of Iran, warned on Thursday, November 7 that about 11 provinces in the country will face a gas shortage this coming winter, and the provinces of Mazandaran, Golestan and North Khorasan are in a more sensitive situation due to their geographical location and the limitations of the gas supply network. According to IRNA, referring to the damage to the country's gas infrastructure on March 18 last year, Tabakli announced that out of 230 million cubic meters of damaged capacity, 100 million cubic meters have been recovered so far, and 130 million cubic meters of imbalance due to these damages remain, in addition to the previous shortage. He also announced a 30% increase in gas consumption in the domestic and commercial sectors in the last five days and defined this year as an "exceptional and difficult" year for the Iranian gas industry.
