The U.S. Central Command, CENTCOM, on Wednesday night, November 6, dismissed as "false" the claims published in Iranian-controlled media that commercial ships collided with naval mines while passing through the Strait of Hormuz.
CENTCOM announced in a statement that U.S. forces have cleared all major shipping lanes through the Strait of Hormuz, which are internationally recognized, of sea mines, and those lanes remain mine-free.
Earlier, on Friday, November 1, the Public Relations of the Revolutionary Guards Navy announced that two tankers carrying more than four million and 500 thousand barrels of crude oil, while passing through a route south of the Strait of Hormuz, which the Revolutionary Guards defined as "unauthorized", collided with sea mines and suffered an explosion and fire. Also, on Tuesday, November 5, the Navy's public relations announced that another oil tanker caught fire in the east of the Strait of Hormuz due to a mine strike and announced that this oil tanker intends to pass through the strait without coordination with the Iranian military.
