Amira Rima Bint Bandar Al Saud, Saudi Arabia's ambassador to the United States, called for a global coalition to defeat the Houthis and warned that this group has become a growing "terrorist network" with ramifications beyond the borders of Yemen, in an article in the New York Times. The Saudi ambassador noted that the US made the right decision in declaring the Houthis as terrorists, and emphasized that all countries must follow this action. He compared the Houthis to ISIS before the conquest of Mosul and added that the world underestimates this terrorist movement. Amira Rima also called for a coordinated international campaign to destroy the military capabilities of this group, block financial resources, intercept arms shipments and strengthen the official government of Yemen.
