59 years have passed since the establishment of Rodaki Hall in Tehran; The hall was opened in November 1346, at the same time as the coronation celebrations, in the presence of Muhammad Reza Shah Pahlavi and Shahbanu Farah Pahlavi. This complex was built on the initiative of the empress of Iran and designed by Eugene Aftandelians, an Iranian architect of Armenian origin, inspired by the Vienna Opera House, and became a center for the performance of opera, ballet, folk dances and Iranian and European music.
At the opening ceremony, opera and ballet programs were presented with the Tehran Symphony Orchestra led by Hashem Sanjari and the choir led by Evelyn Bagchavan. This collection, named after Abdullah Rudaki, a famous Iranian poet and nicknamed "the father of Persian poetry", is considered one of the most important performing arts and music centers in Iran before the 1357 revolution. After the revolution, the large hall of the complex was called "Ulm Vachada" and Rodki's name was kept for the smaller hall.
