On Friday, October 23, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan summoned Mohammad Ali Eskandari, Iran's ambassador in Tashkent, in protest of the materials published by Iranian diplomatic missions about the historical heritage of Samarkand and handed him a note of protest. According to the statement of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan, the Tashkent protest was related to the content published by some diplomatic missions of Iran on the X social network about the historical heritage and architecture of Samarkand. In these materials, the desert field of Samarkand and its historical architecture were described in the context of the legacy of the "Iranian-Islamic civilization". The Iranian embassies in Armenia and Zimbabwe also published photos of Marco Rubio, the US Secretary of State, in front of Rigistan Square. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan announced that the historical heritage of Samarkand, Bukhara, Khiva and other cities in this country was created over hundreds of years and reflects the history and culture of the people of Uzbekistan. This office demanded that the offending content be removed from the pages of Iranian diplomatic missions and to prevent a repetition of similar cases.
