The Central Command of the United States Army (CENTCOM) announced on Sunday, November 3, through the publication of a message on the X social network, that Admiral Brad Cooper, commander of CENTCOM, flew over the Strait of Hormuz with a US Army Chinook helicopter and checked the operational status of this international waterway.

According to this announcement, American forces have helped partner countries on the shores of the Persian Gulf to export more than 1.5 billion barrels of crude oil since the summer, and during the past six months more than three thousand commercial ships have passed through the Strait of Hormuz with the support of CENTCOM forces.

Referring to the clearing of the main shipping lanes in the Strait of Hormuz from naval mines placed by the Revolutionary Guards, Cooper said: "Today, thanks to the extraordinary efforts of our forces, the main traffic lanes in the Strait of Hormuz are still open and clear of Iranian naval mines." Centcom also announced that in recent months more than 95 percent of ships have passed safely through the Strait of Hormuz, which shows the control the US and its regional partners have over this international waterway.
