Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk supported the forceful takeover of the Constitutional Court and called it "restoring the rule of law." According to media reports, with the help of the police, the chairman Bogdan Swieczkowski and his deputy Bartlomiej Suchenski were removed from the leadership. Judge Anna Corwin-Piotrowska, close to Tusk, took the lead. The Constitutional Court itself called what was happening a coup.
