Municipal elections have begun in Armenia: they are held in 21 communities in nine regions of the republic, except for Yerevan on a proportional basis, voting is carried out in the communities of Arteshat, Armavir, Arkes, Gebr, Martoni, Vardenis, Harazdan, Tzakhedzor, Garni, Artik, Akhrian, Goris, Magri, Yegandzor, Vyk, Jermuk, Ijvan, Dilijan, Stephanolvan and Pimir. The elections will not be competitive in five communities: Wike, Armavir, Vardenis, Gerani and Akhorian, where only the ruling GD representatives were nominated as candidates.
