The experiment in organized recruitment of migrant workers in Russia may be postponed from January 1 to March 1, 2027 due to delays in the preparation of the bill and the necessary IT infrastructure, Kommersant writes, citing sources in federal departments. The new mechanism allows the arrival of foreign workers to specific employers and the exchange of work permits by registration in a special register of the Ministry of the Interior. Employers will have to apply for the required number of employees, pay for their genomic registration and, if necessary, deportation costs.
