Discussion and forecast at 400 AM CDT (0900 UTC), the center of Post-Tropical Cyclone Isaias
was located near latitude 35.4 North, longitude 85.9 West. The
post-tropical cyclone is beginning to move toward the
northeast and this motion is expected to increase to near 20 mph (32
km/h) and continue for the rest of the day.
Maximum sustained winds are near 25 mph (35 km/h) with higher gusts.
Little change in strength is expected during the next 24 hours.
The estimated minimum central pressure is 1010 mb (29.83 inches).

Piedmont and coastal plain of Virginia and North Carolina.
WIND: Gusty winds continue to pose a threat across the surface of the southeastern United States today, especially near the south
Appalachians. Scattered power outages and fallen trees and
power lines may occur, with the risk highest in elevated terrain.
SURF: Waves from Isaias will continue to affect much of the area
Gulf and southeastern coasts of the United States, Mexico, and western
Cuba this weekend. These swells could cause
life-threatening surf and rip current conditions. Please consult
