DISCUSSION AND FORECAST

AT 400 PM CDT (2100 UTC), THE CENTER OF POST-TROPICAL CYCLONE ISAIAS

WAS LOCATED NEAR LATITUDE 33.5 NORTH, LONGITUDE 86.9 WEST. THE

POST-TROPICAL CYCLONE IS MOVING TOWARD THE NORTH-NORTHEAST NEAR 15

MPH (24 KM/H) AND THIS MOTION IS EXPECTED TO TURN

TOWARD THE NORTHEAST AND ACCELERATE THROUGH SUNDAY.

MAXIMUM SUSTAINED WINDS ARE NEAR 30 MPH (45 KM/H) WITH HIGHER GUSTS.

LITTLE CHANGE IN STRENGTH IS EXPECTED DURING THE NEXT 48 HOURS.

THE ESTIMATED MINIMUM CENTRAL PRESSURE IS 1007 MB (29.74 INCHES).

Rain: Rainfall totals 3 to 6 inches with local maximums

amounts of 10 inches are possible across the southern Appalachians from northeast Georgia to western Carolina and from the upper

South Carolina coast to eastern North Carolina. Additional

rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches possible over the remainder

in the southeast to northern Florida.

BULLETIN: , Urban and river flooding is possible across the region, with

significant impacts, including landslides, possible across the area

Southern Appalachians. Significant river flooding across the west

Florida Panhandle will evolve today through Sunday.

Tornado: A few tornadoes are possible today across the east

Georgia and the Carolinas. Wind: Strong wind gusts continue to pose a threat across the area

Southeastern United States today, especially near the South

Appalachians. Scattered power outages and fallen trees and

Power lines may occur, with the risk being highest in high terrain.

SURF: Waves from Isaias will continue to affect much of the area

Gulf coasts of the United States, Mexico and western Cuba this

weekend. These swells can cause life-threatening surf and
