Discussion and forecast at 1000 AM CDT (1500 UTC), Post-Tropical Cyclone Center

Isaias is located near latitude 32.8 North, longitude 86.8 West.

The post-tropical cyclone is moving toward the north-northwest near

10 mph (17 km/h) and this motion is expected to continue today,

with a turn toward the northeast tonight through Sunday.

Maximum sustained winds are near 35 mph (55 km/h) with higher

gusts, especially in areas of high terrain. Wind gusts may

increase during the day, with speeds weakening

tonight through Sunday.

The estimated minimum central pressure is 1006 mb (29.71 inches).

amounts of 10 inches are possible across the southern Appalachians from northeast Georgia to western Carolina and from the upper

rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches possible over the remainder

in the southeast to northern Florida.
