Marco Rubio denies US involvement in the escape of Flavio Bolsonaro from Brazil The Secretary of State of the United States, Marco Rubio, stated on Saturday (31) that the American government did not participate in the organization of the escape of Flavio Bolsonaro (PL) from Brazilian justice. At a press conference during the G20 meeting in Atlanta, Rubio announced that Washington only learned of the senator's arrival in the country after it happened. According to him, Flavio already had a valid visa and received an entry permit according to President Donald Trump's decision. The secretary added that Trump signaled the granting of parole, a temporary entry permit for humanitarian reasons, if the Brazilian presented himself to US immigration. The statement comes after Flavio Bolsonaro's coup letter and amid pressure from the Americans themselves to get an explanation for the visas that will be granted to another fugitive from Brazilian justice and his family.
