The Georgian Railway has begun the renovation of the Tbilisi Central Railway Station. The cost of the work is estimated at almost 7 million GEL, and is scheduled to be completed in the fall of next year, 2027. As part of the project, the first, second and third platforms will be completely renewed - the old ones will be dismantled and modern and higher platforms will be installed in their place. It is also planned to eliminate the underground passage between the platforms and the staircase leading to the platforms from the central building of Tbilisi. Also, a waiting area for passengers will be installed.
