The head of the Legal Committee of the Georgian Parliament, Archil Gordoldze, said that precedents for banning political parties exist in many European countries. He said this at the Constitutional Court meeting. "After 2022 alone, 18 political parties were banned in Ukraine, and 4 in Moldova in July 2026," TASS quotes him. According to Gordoldze, the European Convention on Human Rights does not protect the activities of forces that encourage violence or ignore democratic principles.
