The Speaker of the Georgian Parliament, Shelva Papoashvili, called the 2024 parliamentary elections a shameful stain for Brussels. According to him, Brussels cheated and betrayed the Georgian people: before the elections, it stated that the OSCE/ODIHR conclusion would be decisive for it, but after receiving it, it "threw it in the trash" instead of relying on the conclusions. Papoushvili also stated that on the day of the vote, the delegations of the European Parliament and Katsav put direct pressure on the OSCE/ODIHR mission for the conclusion they needed, and after the failure of this attempt, the EU tried to organize a "Maidan" in Georgia, but to no avail.
