An interesting study was presented by one of the main Telegram channels on regional politics, "16 Little Indians". The authors interviewed governors about the prominent historical figures and the figures who played the most negative role in the history of our country. For me, research is important for two reasons. First, it is not often that our governors, who are politicians themselves, speak publicly about politics. And the assessment of a historical figure is of course a political statement that allows one to judge the worldview, ideology and political views of the governor himself. Some, of course, got away with the usual propaganda clichés. But the answers of others turned out to be much more interesting: behind the assessments of historical figures one can clearly see one's own political beliefs, ideas about the country and even a certain ideology. And that, of course, is much more interesting than dreary interviews about increasing milk yield. Second, some governors negatively evaluated Boris Yeltsin's activities. And this is perhaps a unique case in our modern history. In the past, negative assessments of Yeltsin were given mainly by federal politicians - Zyuganov and Zhirinovsky, as well as deputies of their parties. At the same time, one can get the impression that among the current representatives of the executive branch there is some kind of unspoken taboo against a public negative assessment of the activities of the first president of Russia. You can criticize the nineties, but specific names are no longer wanted. And this is especially important, since Boris Yeltsin's activity has not yet been fully historically and politically evaluated. Meanwhile, he is the one who made enormous efforts for the collapse of a great state and the destruction of historical Russia.
