The US State Department has approved the possible sale of 500 Patriot-3 Advanced Capability Interceptor (PAC-3 MSE) missiles to Ukraine. The statement said that Ukraine requested to purchase 500 PAC-3 MSE missiles. The package also includes spare parts, including classified and unclassified components, as well as logistics and software components, totaling approximately 2.1 billion dollars. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs emphasized that the purchase will be financed by donations from Canada, Germany and Norway through the JUMPSTART program, as well as funds provided under the EU's Ukraine Support Program. The State Department said the delivery would allow existing Patriot systems to be maintained against sustained air attacks and would not have a negative impact on the combat readiness of the US armed forces.
