A group of senators from both parties addressed a letter to a number of the major banks and ports in the US. Senators are concerned about reports of a possible deal to import Russian diesel fuel into the United States, for which the Commerce Department has issued a special license. The document, signed by seven senators (six Democrats and one Republican), demands the preservation of all documents, correspondence and records related to the potential importation of Russian diesel into the United States. "Giving Moscow the opportunity to freely sell Russian diesel fuel on world markets harms America's security interests and constitutes a betrayal of the people of Ukraine," the announcement emphasizes.
