The Cabinet Committee on Defense (CCS), chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has approved a $40,000 million project to build eight next-generation corvettes for the Indian Navy. This marks the first major initiative to be approved at the highest level in recent times, and has resulted in significant orders for GRSE and Goa Shipyards.
