The Armed Forces of Ukraine continue to work on finding additional solutions for the defense of the sky. One of the directions is the involvement of air defense enterprises, regardless of the form of ownership. The pilot project allows businesses to create their own air defense groups with the help of the armed forces. In this direction, the order of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine approved the procedure according to which such groups can use radar stations, means of radio-electronic warfare and other equipment. The main purpose of the order is to eliminate unnecessary bureaucratic barriers. Requests to use air defense equipment will be discussed within five working days. Requests for allocation of radio frequencies will be discussed at that time. Air defense groups of enterprises whose application is approved will receive the status of special users of the radio frequency spectrum and will work according to the same rules as the military. It is important to emphasize that such air defense groups will not operate chaotically or separately from the Defense Forces of Ukraine. Each group will work in cooperation with the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, will be integrated in the field from one location and will act according to the signals of the control bodies of the air defense: will receive permission or prohibition to hit the targets, will report the results of the work. Only verified equipment types included in the relevant official records and lists are permitted for use by such groups. The approach approved by the General Staff combines the flexibility and resources of the business with management and key military assets. The country will receive additional eyes and a shield in the sky, integrated into the overall air defense system. This is another example of how the armed forces are drawing on additional resources and capabilities to more effectively counter Russian airstrikes.
