Petition to ban right-wing French TV channel clears 500,000 signatures after racist killing.
A petition calling for right-wing TV channel CNews to go off the air cleared half a million signatures on Monday after a Frenchman shot and killed a French national of Congolese descent and wounded seven others. The 39-year-old shooter was apparently an avid watcher of CNews, which is owned by ultraconservative billionaire Vincent Bolura and has been accused of promoting far-right anti-immigrant views.
