Russia's free press bastion Novaya Gazeta has been shut down under pressure from the Kremlin.
The Novaya Gazeta newspaper, one of the last vestiges of independent journalism in Russia, announced on Friday that it was closing, citing pressure from authorities who recently searched the home of its senior editor and arrested one of its journalists earlier this year.
