The extreme right in Germany, AfD, achieves great gains in two elections in the country

Alternative for Germany (AfD) took first place in a state election in northeastern Germany on Sunday, exit polls showed, boosting the far-right party's national momentum as conservative Chancellor Friedrich March fights for political survival. In additional elections in the capital Berlin, the AfD also gained strength.
