The German President's full support for Zionism Frank-Walter Steinmeier, German President: Anyone who uses criticism as a tool to deny the right of the Jewish community in Israel or even the right to the existence of the State of Israel, or calls for violence, has crossed the line of criticism and entered the realm of hatred of Jews. Anyone who shouts "death to the Jews" in the streets or calls for the destruction of the Jewish state should not be treated with sympathy or encouragement in any German political party. Wherever negotiations are conducted to establish political coalitions and governments are established, this should be a basic condition.
