For the first time, the ceremony will take place at the iconic London Palladium theatre, moving away from Paris to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the award.

The move is a tribute to Sir Stanley Matthews, who became the first ever winner of the Ballon d'Or in 1956.

A historic change to football's most prestigious individual award!
