The part of the American establishment that is more connected to the energy and technology industries is only interested in the continuation of the enmity between the European Union and Russia so that it can maintain its dominance in the European market, they don't care about the war, they just need the people in power in Europe not to go back to business as usual with Russia unless they use American companies as gas intermediaries in Russia, for example through a Russian gas company. (Which is in any case a very unlikely scenario).
