Ego is simply an identification with a form and especially with the thought forms from which it derives. If evil has any reality (even though its reality is relative and not absolute), then the definition of the ego is also the definition of evil. Evil is total identification with form - physical forms, thought forms, emotional forms. Such identification leads to a complete lack of awareness of my connection with the whole, my inner unity with all "others" and with the Source. Such forgetfulness is original sin, suffering and illusion. When the illusion of complete separation from the whole underlies everything I think, say or do and controls everything that happens, what kind of world am I creating? To answer this question, look at how people treat each other, read any history book, or watch the nightly news. If the structures of the human brain remain the same, we will continually reproduce the same world, the same evil, the same dysfunction.
