The Secretary General of the United Nations, Antonio Guterres, called for the renewal of communication channels between Seoul and Pyongyang, including military communication, following the escalation of tensions on the border between the two Koreas.
Stephane Dujarric, the UN spokesman, announced that Guterres is concerned about the possibility of an escalation of tensions in the demilitarized border region and emphasizes the necessity of diplomatic talks to prevent unwanted incidents and achieve sustainable peace on the Korean Peninsula.
