China completely rejected the unilateral US sanctions under the pretext of cooperation with Cuba in response to the new US sanctions against Chinese companies, Beijing called these actions illegal and emphasized the legitimacy of its relations with Havana. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of China announced that the cooperation between the two countries is completely transparent, open and based on international laws. China, while strongly supporting Cuba's national sovereignty, pledged to take all necessary measures to protect the rights of its members.
