In Russia, the possibility of selling electricity through charging stations is being tested.
The Russian government has ordered the development of a regulatory framework that will allow excess electricity to be sold back to the grid, including through electric charging stations.
The initiative is included in the implementation plan of the Russian energy strategy until 2050. The Ministry of Energy, the Ministry of Industry and Trade and the Ministry of Construction are responsible for the development of the mechanism. The departments must submit the first report to the government by June 30, 2027.
Currently, the technical requirements for the equipment, the calculation rules, the conditions for connecting to the network and the range of participants have not yet been determined.
