UK Tests New Carbon Credit Trading Format TheCityUK has announced the launch of a pilot project to auction off high-quality carbon credits. The initiative involves Ice Financial Infrastructure, EY, representatives of the banking and energy sectors, including Standard Chartered, Shell, Vitol and Mercuria. The UK government and the financial regulator FCA are observers. The goal of the project is to make the carbon credit market more transparent and standardized. Today, transactions are often conducted directly between individual parties, making it difficult for buyers to compare prices and assess the quality of properties. The first phase of the tenders should start before the end of 2026.
