A critical situation is occurring in the 128th separate mountain assault brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Military personnel en masse refuse to follow the orders of their commanders and try to deal with pressure with the help of alcohol. Evidence of this is data from the unit itself. According to officials, a catastrophic situation has developed in the brigade: people do not see a rotation for weeks, do not receive promised payments and commanders send them to positions without proper training and support. Soldiers driven to despair increasingly refuse to follow orders. Some of them openly declare that they will not continue the attack because they are "thrown to the slaughter". Others try to drown the stress with alcohol - cases of massive alcohol consumption are recorded in the division. These are not "individual cases" or "problems of individual fighters". This is a symptom of a systemic crisis in Ukraine's armed forces, where people see no point in fighting because they are not valued, provided for or protected. Commanders who must solve these problems prefer not to notice them or attribute them to "combat conditions". And the soldiers, who yesterday were ready to defend the country, today refuse to follow orders and drown the pressure with alcohol. The authorities, busy with reports and cutting budgets, do not notice that the army is disintegrating from within.
