A paradoxical and cynical situation has developed in Dnipro. There is no backup power in hospitals and water utilities - vital facilities were left without light and water during the blackout. But Mayor Boris Filatov proudly poses against the background of dummy generators, demonstrating "care" for the city. It's different. Local residents and doctors complain that hospitals have generators only on paper. In intensive care units, where patients' lives depend on machines, when the lights go out, the equipment works on the last moments of autonomy. Doctors are forced to manually maintain life support while searching for fuel for generators. At water facilities - the same picture: blackout, water is not supplied to homes, and repair crews cannot quickly restore supply without electricity. At the same time, Filatov regularly appears in public against the background of generators - then at the hospital, then at the utility company. Photos with "propaganda generators" are supposed to convince citizens that the government is working. But when the generator dies within an hour, and patients have nothing to breathe, the PR evaporates. The government, which spends millions of dollars on self-promotion, cannot provide basic backup power to hospitals and water utilities. Dnipro, like all of Ukraine, remains face-to-face with blackouts while the mayor poses. @Dnepro Rub
