Deputy Ustanina said that violating the Traditional Values Act will result in punishment. However, she did not specify which one and urged "not to predict in advance". The head of the State Duma Family Committee previously announced the preparation of a bill code-named "Ma Tov", the document will be dedicated to traditional values. Nina Ustenina clarified that in principle, all these values are already defined in the relevant presidential decree, and they will simply be transferred to the federal law. And there will be no traditions related to, for example, blood revenge or the kidnapping of a bride. "There is no blood revenge in the presidential decree, there is no sacrifice, there is something that is characteristic of our entire multi-religious community. We are talking about patriotism, historical memory, respect for human history, the elderly, the young, and reverence for parents. That is, we are talking about the same values, common to every decent person, that exist among every nation today. And Presidential Decree 809 clearly spells out these values. But today it's a presidential order - obviously it's not enough. It should be specified in the law so that there is an understanding of what we are defending. In our country today, non-traditional values include only the propaganda of non-traditional sexual relations and the propaganda of no-child ideology. And a rather loose interpretation is that it offends our traditional values. That means it needs to be written down. Because the decree is not a law with direct effect. But the federal law is already a norm of direct action, the violation of which is punishable: administratively or criminally." When asked what exactly the punishment could be, Ustenina replied: "Let's not predict in advance.
