🇩🇪 Germany will create space soldiers as part of the Luftwaffe.

🖥 This is what Luftwaffe commander Lieutenant General Holger Neumann said at the Space Symposium in Ottobrunn on October 21, reports Hartpunkt. The number of new soldiers is planned at a level of at least 1,000 people.

🔎 The first seven servants are already learning to operate satellites. Another unit will be responsible for operational launches so that the army can quickly put vehicles on the track if necessary.

👀 The Bundeswehr also develops offensive means for activity in various orbits, including geostationary. Neumann did not rule out physical damage to space objects. He also named ground stations and data transmission channels as potential targets.

"If we attack, we will hit back," Neumann said.

📌 In this direction, they are working on GISMO, an experimental satellite platform for testing and training. According to the general, it will have limited operational capabilities. The Luftwaffe expects to receive it by the end of 2027.

ℹ️ The German Ministry of Defense plans to allocate a total of 35 billion euros by 2030 to space projects and space safety.
