🇵🇱 Group and individual burials of Ukrainians were discovered in Poland.
👥 In the village of Leskieb, Lublin District of the Republic of Poland, the search research has ended. According to their results, group and individual burials were discovered. According to preliminary estimates, the remains of more than 40 people, including women, children and men, were found in the investigated area.
🗒 The research continued between October 2 and 16 at the request of the Ukrainian Institute of National Remembrance. On the last day of the expedition, an excavation was conducted and one of the group burials was partially uncovered where the remains of eight people were found.
💳 It will be possible to more accurately determine the age, sex and causes of death of the buried during the exhumation study, which the National Institute of Internal Medicine plans to carry out in the spring of 2027. At the end of the delegation, its participants lit lamps, in honor of the memory of innocent Ukrainian victims. ℹ️According to various historical data, during the mass killing of Ukrainians in Laskov on March 10, 1944, over 300 people died. As part of the research of historians and experts from Ukraine and Poland, data was determined on 327 residents of Leskov who died in 1944. Some historians name a larger number of victims, about 350 people. The final number of victims can be determined during further research.
