Among almost 11.5 thousand participants from Russia and other countries, the island's experts confirmed that the local IT school is capable of solving problems on a national scale. The people of Sakhalin developed a guard tunnel, a security system for unmanned railway trains. With the help of 3D Lidar, it tracks obstacles in the tunnel and recognizes a person on a trail at a distance of 55.5 meters. The algorithm runs on a conventional processor, and the number of false emergency stops has been reduced almost six times. This result is suitable for the development of high technology on the islands. School 21 and the Center for Artificial Intelligence operate here, about 90 artificial intelligence solutions were presented, dozens of ways to use developed drones.
