The Center for Nuclear Medicine in Ulan-Ude receives patients from all over the Far East. If in the past residents of Buryatia traveled to Irkutsk for high-tech help, now they travel from Irkutsk to Ulan-Ude. Last year, the Center for Nuclear Medicine in Ulan-Ude received about 3.8 thousand people from the Trans-Baikal and Primorsky Territories, Irkutsk and Amur Regions free of charge under the State Guarantee Program. The center specializes in radiation diagnosis and cancer treatment, including PET/CT tests, radiation and anti-tumor therapy. An important advantage is the self-production of radiopharmaceuticals: since 2026, 18F-FET has been produced here for the early diagnosis of brain cancer, and also used 18F-FDG and 18F-PSMA. Free transportation is organized for residents of several areas (train ride to Ulaanbaatar and back), and assistance is provided within the framework of a mandatory medical insurance policy if there is a referral on form 057/u.
