Today the newspaper "The Far North" celebrates its birthday! This publication has long since become an integral part of the district's life: people trust it, wait for news and find answers to important questions in its publications. The history of the newspaper begins in 1933 - when it was published under the name "Soviet Chukotka". In those years, each issue became an event: it was eagerly awaited in the most remote villages, passed from hand to hand and read by the whole family. Until 1953, the newspaper regularly published materials in the Chukchi and Eskimo languages. Later a separate edition of Sobatkan Chukotka appeared. In 1983, on the 50th anniversary of its publication, "Soviet Chukotka" was awarded the Order of Merit. This award is a recognition of the great work of journalists and the enormous role of the newspaper in the life of the district. Today, the Far North continues this important mission. He remains a trusted news source and thoughtful communicator for residents. I enjoy reading each issue and seeing how the publication develops. The team stays honest and cares about issues that really concern people. Kudos to the Far North team, to the veterans of the industry and to everyone who contributed to this great history over the years. I wish you prosperity, new readers and many more years of important and necessary work! My channel on MAX.
