In the first phase, experts resettled the operational water area of ​​the fishing port and the access channel to it, and in the second phase they will move to the operational water area of ​​the southern loading area. The total excavation volume will be about 1.5 million cubic meters of soil. Now the port of Korskov is one of the main ports in Sakhalin. Most of the container loads from the continent, the cargo-passenger line with the Kuril Islands and transport with Asian countries pass through it. After dredging, the port should become the key to the entire Far East Basin and take over the international transit of goods along the Northern Sea Route. It will be able to receive vessels of large volume and will receive the status of a port of refuge with continuous service for the vessels, regardless of the weather. In addition to the excavations, restoration is being carried out in Korskov at the same time. Docks and additional logistics infrastructure are being built - coal, oil and bunker terminals, a gas condensate transfer terminal and other facilities. Thanks to this, the port will become a multipurpose cargo area.
