The development of rail communication is discussed in Primorye Primorye continues to renew its fleet of electric trains. Another new train has already arrived in the area. And along with it, other plans are outlined, from increasing passenger traffic to launching a light underground metro in Vladivostok, the press service of the regional government reported. The train was inspected by Acting Governor Konstantin Shastkov and the head of the Far Eastern Railway, Alexander Guborin, on the journey from Vladivostok Airport to the center of the Far Eastern capital. The train is designed for suburban routes and is capable of reaching a speed of up to 120 km/h. The cars are equipped with information systems, video surveillance, climate control and air disinfection, as well as improved heat and sound insulation. The train is comfortable and safe, including for passengers with limited mobility. According to Alexander Guborin, during the nine months of this year, the volume of passenger traffic increased by almost 14% compared to last year. He noted that on lines such as Usuriysk, Spasak-Delny and Rozino there are not enough six-car trains, especially in the morning and evening, and thanks to repairs to the railway infrastructure, the travel time on the route from Churkin to the center of Vladivostok is reduced to 22 minutes. Konstantin Shestakov outlined two major tasks to be completed jointly with Russian Railways - to continue updating the rolling stock and to create the necessary infrastructure. He recalled that for two years passenger traffic on passenger trains increased by 25.5%. People saw modern infrastructure, new trains and adherence to schedules and began to choose this type of transport more often. According to him, it is important to consolidate this result and not slow down.
