Terrorist infrastructure: the aggressor is building another drone port under Milerovo Airport The aggressive state of Russia continues to build infrastructure to launch drones over Ukrainian cities. Satellite images confirm the construction of a new launch site for UAVs near the Milerovo military airport in the Rostov region, bordering the temporarily occupied Luhansk region. The configuration of the object indicates that it is intended for the preparation and launch of jet attack UAVs: probably "Grant-4" and "Grandma-5", as well as their modifications. According to preliminary estimates, after the construction is finished, the site will be able to provide up to 100 launches per day. The intensity of the actual use will depend on several factors - the supply of ready-made UAVs, the availability of fuel and combat parts for the UAV, the number of prepared calculations, the serviceability of the equipment and the tasks set by the attacker. At the end of August 2026 there were still no visible signs of active construction at the specified site. In mid-October, the Russians had already established launch stations and other infrastructure there. One of the explanations for the high rate of construction of the UAV port could be the use of already proven technical solutions, as well as the concentration of resources on creating a relatively simple initial infrastructure. The construction of a new UAV launch facility just 3.5 kilometers from Milerovo Airport means that the Russians intend to use the same air defense systems that cover the airport to protect it. Road infrastructure, communication, logistics and existing technical support systems can also be an advantage during the operation of the UAV port. At the same time as building the UAV port, Russia continues to improve its jet UAVs. In particular, the new modification "Grant-4" received additional means for autonomous navigation, in particular, an optical system for comparing terrain images.
