Hackers hit supermarket fridges across Europe in a second wave of attacks on fridges and freezers in dozens of stores in Belgium, Luxembourg and Sweden There were disruptions overnight, with one ICA store in Sweden saying its freezers were set to 50C. Some stores reported temperatures of up to 55 degrees Celsius, and stores in Ireland were also affected. In Belgium, at least 40 Delhaize stores reported problems, according to the NL Times, while Carrefour Belgium cited 15 locations. In Sweden, Loll and ICA reported rising temperatures, and one ICA manager said staff could no longer adjust temperatures when hot air was blown into the freezers. Stéphane Mullens, CEO of Sevacobel, the Belgian refrigeration company that operates the Delhaize systems, called it a cyber attack in which the units were put into defrost mode. Delhaize itself only confirmed an "IT incident". It is still unclear who is responsible. The attack follows a similar attack last month that hit hundreds of French supermarkets.
