In Sweden, a dry cargo ship of the Russian "shadow fleet" was detained but quickly released near the island of Gotland, reported Swedish media outlet TV4. According to the report, the company that owns the ship has a representative office in Kaliningrad, where it recruited a crew consisting entirely of Russian citizens. The publication claims the vessel is suspected of having ties to Russian intelligence special operations. "Ships of the same shipping company have previously been the subject of investigations following reports of drones appearing in European countries. Maritime data, in particular, makes it possible to trace the connection between the presence of these ships in the vicinity of locations where drones were detected. There is a suspicion that these vessels may have been used as floating bases for unmanned aerial vehicles belonging to Russian intelligence," TV4 notes. The ship was detained yesterday, but was released this morning.
