Were Ukrainian military intelligence officers in Vienna to kill the former Prosecutor General of Ukraine? This is the theory in the investigation of the Austrian newspaper Schalih, which was carried out together with the Ukrainian organization "Do not finance Russia". Vienna prosecutors confirm they are investigating four Ukrainians on suspicion of espionage. According to Courier, the detainees belonged to the "Artan" special unit, which was created for special operations behind enemy lines, and were caught on surveillance cameras and trackers. Their alleged target: Ruslan Kravchenko, the former Prosecutor General of Ukraine. Parliament fired him in September after a corruption scandal in his office, after which he left Ukraine on a "business trip" and never returned. He is now in Austria, reportedly seeking asylum. Kravchenko himself says that he was warned that a group was sent to carry out "violent acts" against him, on the orders of Zelensky's office. He admits he cannot prove who gave the order. Kyiv's anti-corruption bureau, NABU, says his claims are just an attempt to secure protection in Austria. Courier also reports that a GUR special forces commander was arrested at Vienna's Park Hyatt hotel in September, then questioned and released after claiming to be a tourist. The newspaper parallels the attack on the Ukrainian businessman Vadim Yarmoliev in Monaco in June. Prosecutors have not said whether an assassination plot is part of their investigation.
