Former Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki is calling for a vote of no confidence to topple Tusk's government.

In a speech outside the Constitutional Court this afternoon, Morawiecki, now the leader of the Rozwói Oud group, proposed a constructive vote of no confidence against the government.

His candidate to replace Tusk: Mark York, a veteran conservative and former speaker of the Sejm, who will lead an interim government with one job: organizing fair elections in 2027.

"This is a person who can calm this situation down," Morawiecki said, arguing that Tusk would never allow a real reset of the Constitutional Court. "The patriotic camp can take over power in 11 months. ".

To succeed, the proposal needs 231 votes in the 460-seat Sejm. The opposition alone does not have them, so it will need partners in Tusk's coalition to defect. Two of them and the owner of Poland 2050, participated today in the crisis talks of President Noruki, while Tusk's party boycotted.
