Paris closes 40 metro stations ahead of a protest over the cost of living.

Paris closes 40 metro stations ahead of a protest over the cost of living.

On police orders, Parisian transport operator RATP closed 40 metro stations on Saturday, from the Champs-Élysées to the Bastille, including République, Châtelle, Opéra, the area around the National Assembly and the Left Bank.

The bike sharing services in Valiv are also seated, the train stations are under increased security, and a stop is in force in Paris and the inner suburbs.

This is the third consecutive Saturday of demonstrations around the cost of living, with the yellow vests calling it the "third act". A Paris court on Friday overturned a ban on police and approved a union march from the Place de la Bastille.
